Prestage Farms is seeking a Poult Room Technician who will work in conjunction with the other associates to expedite the process of performing the necessary services to the newly hatched poults. The poult room technician serves as a team player within the department to facilitate the health and well-being of the poults. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: Responsibilities Performs the necessary servicing elements that are acceptable to the standards of reasonable poultry husbandry practices that include but not limited to debeaking; toe nail trimming; dewclaw removal; and works with all relevant parties regarding cost control. Carries out a number of activities associated with poult servicing and processing procedures; performs task and work methods in a manner as to increase work unit effectiveness and efficiency; and carries out assignment and/or functional responsibility on a daily basis. Works ethically and directly with all hatchery associates; establishes criteria for acceptable work behavior and performance; evaluates each task by comparing work quality to performance standards; and performs the necessary elements to maintain high standards throughout the poult processing room.
